I’m stepping into something new, and something that feels deeply right

I have just joined the Therapeutic Coaching programme with The Therapeutic Coaching School. This feels like a continuation of a journey that began long before I ever called myself a coach. Through Imagine Public Services and my work with leaders and teams across the public sector, I have spent years listening to people’s stories and supporting them through moments of change, pressure and possibility.

What I have learned again and again is that the real challenges rarely sit on the surface. They live in the layers underneath. The beliefs we carry. The patterns we repeat. The emotions we push aside. The way our bodies hold stress and resilience long before our minds catch up.

Helping people become the strongest and most grounded version of themselves has always been the heart of my work. Yet I have often found that traditional coaching tools only reach part of the picture. Many of the barriers people face are rooted in something deeper and more human. Something that needs space, compassion and a different kind of attention.

Therapeutic coaching brings together everything I care about. Emotional and somatic awareness. Therapy-informed practice. A belief that people thrive when they feel safe enough to explore who they truly are. A commitment to supporting leaders not only in what they do but in how they feel and how they show up in the world.

This is not a pivot. It is a deepening of the work I already love. It is a way of honouring the complexity of the people I support and the systems they operate in. It is also a way of expanding my practice with Imagine Public Services so I can meet clients with even more depth, clarity and humanity.
